Posh Spice Victoria Beckham reveals her superfood is BEE POLLEN – but what on earth does it do and why is it creating such a buzz in the beauty world?

In Bank Holiday Monday, after Easter Sunday, Victoria Beckham sent out a tweet to her twitter followers at 7+ million followers, saying:

‘Totally obsessed with this Bee pollen! so good for u!! X vb’

Bee pollen comes in either granules, powder or powder in capsules, and those who take it in granules usually put them into salads and smoothies.

It is world-reknown as nature’s miracle superfood because it contains all of the nutrients that we humans need in our body to function, including vitamins, enzymes, amino acid and minerals. Even contains folic acid too.

What does it do?

Bee pollen is known to increase one’s energy levels, and can be used and applied on skin to soothe skin conditions such as pimples and acne, helps to be an appetite suppressant and thus helps with weight loss, and even boasts improving one’s sex drive and orgasmic pleasures.

Bee pollen is collected by honey bees when they go from flower to flower harvesting nectar, and if you really take a close look at the bees during summertime, you can see little yellow balls that are collected on their bodies and legs – that is the bee pollen that the bees gather (on top of nectar) to take back to the bee hive.

These humble little pellets are then harvested by bee keepers to supplement their (and consumer) healthy diets, as they are known for their highly nutritious characteristics, being rich in amino acids, proteins, multi vitamins, enzymes and folic acid.

Bee pollen’s make up and nutrition is very unique because of its high nutrient content that no other products that animal/grain/fruit-origin can compare.

An example is that, weight for weight, bee pollen contains more amino acids compared to beef, eggs or cheese.

It also helps to increase your baseline energy because of its high vitamin B-complex content as well as the high levels of rutin which is an antioxidant that improves the strength of your blood capillaries and blood vessels, which helps to supply your organs, muscles and entire body with nutrient-rich blood supply and clear toxins.
